In his first order after taking over as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis has approved a financial grant of Rs 500,000 to Pune residents in need of bone marrow transplants.
The aid was drawn from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund and given to Chandrakant Shankar Kulhade, whose wife had sought help. Fadnavis signed the approval before leading his first cabinet meeting.
In a post on I wanted him to become the chief minister. Immediately, the Minister yesterday approved a financial aid of Rs 500,000 from the Prime Minister's Support Fund. This was his first decision to release the Kulhade family from the aid. I had a discussion with the Prime Minister, and he promised full cooperation.
Fadnavis was sworn in as chief minister at a ceremony at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, while Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were also sworn in as deputy chief ministers. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, NDA Chief Minister and several party leaders along with thousands of supporters.
