Twenty-two new dialysis centres are being set up in Andhra Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) to improve access to treatment, Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav said on Tuesday (October 13).

In a statement, the Minister said the centres would come up in Bhimavaram in West Godavari district; Pileru in Chittoor district; Jammalamadugu and Mydukuru in YSR Kadapa district; Gannavaram and Gudivada in Krishna district; Venkatagiri and Udayagiri in SPSR Nellore district; Addanki and Repalle in Bapatla district; Railway Koduru and Satyavedu in Tirupati district; Nandigama in NTR district; Vinukonda and Sattenapalli in Palnadu district; Kondepi in Prakasam district; Kovvuru in East Godavari district; Bobbili in Vizianagaram district; Dhone and Srisailam in Nandyal district; and one location in Sri Sathya Sai district.

Each centre will be equipped with five dialysis machines at an estimated cost of ₹85 lakh. The machines will enable each centre to conduct around 15 dialysis sessions a day.

Andhra Pradesh currently has 61 centres under the national programme. Responding to requests from public representatives for more centres, the government is setting up the additional facilities, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said. The State also has 170 dialysis centres operating under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme.

The government spent ₹197.88 crore on providing free dialysis services under the two schemes during 2025-26, the Minister said.

The availability of free dialysis at government facilities would provide substantial financial relief to patients and their families, he said. A single dialysis session costs between ₹3,000 and ₹4,000 at private and corporate hospitals, while the government incurs an expenditure of ₹999 per session, he added.
