Govt approves seven new dialysis centres in Andhra Pradesh | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: The state govt on Tuesday approved seven new dialysis centres, where Rs 75 lakh worth of dialysis equipment would be established at each centre. Each centre will have the capacity to provide dialysis services to 15 patients, five each in three separate sessions a day.The seven new dialysis centres will be established at S Kota in Vizianagaram, Seetampeta in Parvathipuram Manyam, Bhimavaram in West Godavari, Pileru in Annamayya district, Venkatagiri in Nellore, Addanki in Bapatla, and Sunnipenta in Kurnool district. According to a release issued by health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav, these new dialysis centres will be set up on the premises of the respective Community Health Centres (CHCs).With the addition of the seven new dialysis centres, the total number of dialysis centres will increase to 239 from the present 232 in the state.The health minister said that the new dialysis centres at S Kota and Seetampeta, which will be inaugurated soon, will function under the PPP model. He invited the AP Medical Service Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) to float tenders for running other dialysis centres in the state under the PPP model.According to govt data, patients suffering from CKDs underwent over 10 lakh dialysis procedures free of cost at the 232 dialysis centres in the 2024-25 financial year in the state. This cost Rs 164 crore, which includes Rs 110 crore through Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust and the remaining Rs 54 crore through the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) in the last financial year.
