ST. CHARLES, Minn. (KTTC) — Braxton Wolfhard was released from the hospital on Friday and will return to his St. Charles home, a hometown ready to welcome him back.

The St. Charles Fire Department shared on social media that the parade is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., with the meeting point near Miller's Market.

St. Charles police, fire and emergency medical services will lead the parade, and students, staff and community members are encouraged to wear orange and white, according to the post. #BlackStrong T-shirt.

Braxton, a student-athlete at St. Charles High School, suddenly fell ill in mid-January and was admitted to the intensive care unit at Mayo Clinic St. Mary's Hospital. Doctors later learned the virus was attacking his heart and he needed a transplant.

According to the CaringBridge website, Braxton was recently able to go fishing at Quarry Hill for recreational therapy. After 18 weeks in hospital, he is now set to be released.
