‘Ordinary Angels’ movie highlights mission to help people waiting for organ transplants

No members of Congress are currently injured, but more than 100,000 men, women and children are waiting for organ transplants, and someone is added to that list every eight minutes. A film highlighting the mission to help those on the list was released today, and last week I had the chance to speak one-on-one with the lead actress. There’s a new movie opening this Friday that’s sure to collect at the box office. Friday, Ordinary Angels. The film is based on the true story of a young girl in desperate need of a liver transplant and the community that rallies around her to ensure she gets it. Hilary Swank is the lead actress in this movie. She’s joining us now for a preview. Mr. Swank, please tell us about this movie and what moviegoers can expect. Hmm, height. I’m glad to be here. This movie. Yes, it is called “Ordinary Angel”. This is a story about a woman who perseveres and finds her true purpose through her service to the Lord, who is larger than life, and helping a young girl and her family. It’s just a beautiful story. It was a real honor to be a part of it. Obviously, this movie holds a special place in your heart for a variety of reasons. Why did you want to be a part of this project? Well, the reason I just said it is just an inspiration and a reminder that we can all do our part to bring good to someone’s life. Because it just reminded me. But the fact that it also deals with organ donation and how organ donation can save lives and, of course, my father was a lung recipient. So, um, his life was lengthened because of that. So he had to live longer because of it. So, um, it is, and um, it’s just dealing with a myriad of things in reality. That’s inspiration. I had to watch the movie beforehand. And obviously you could see the community coming together and rallying around it. Is there a message that people can learn or take away from watching this movie? Well, yeah. You don’t have to be a perfect person because no one deserves to be an angel. I think we have this idea that, oh, angels are larger than life, and, um, but that’s not true, you know? Well, you can be in the darkest night of your soul and still show up for someone else. And as a result, you usually end up receiving even more healing than the person you are helping. That’s a great way to say it. I think that was the part of the movie where I had to pause. The Gift of the Starfish I won’t give anything away, but please tell me about the child actors who really sold this movie. Oh yeah, Skywalker and Emily, they’re such great actors and they reminded me that I’ve been doing this for almost 35 years. There are times when I’m on set and I’m really tired, and even though it’s already the 15th hour, I just want the day to be over. Still, they reminded me that they were having a great time and were so excited to be there. And I went back to when I first started: No amount of tiredness can take away my joy. So, um, they, they just brought back to that point why you’re here. And why are you doing it?Well, whatever you bring
