HANNIBAL, Mo. – We’ve recently received messages from viewers regarding an area dialysis facility.
One of those messages was from a woman, who did not want her name published, told KTVO her friend had to undergo six hours of dialysis instead of her normal four due to outdated equipment at the DaVita Kidney Care Center in Hannibal.
For the past two weeks, I’ve reached out to DaVita to get word on the current state of its dialysis machines.
Claims have been made that the machines at the clinic are over 10 years old and have malfunctioned during active treatment of a patient.
The company was not open to an interview to share information, but they did provide a statement to address the claims.
“Regrettably, a recent machine disruption caused an unforeseen, slight delay,” a DaVita Kidney Care representative said. “The machines in our Hannibal center were already scheduled for replacement, and we’re addressing maintenance issues swiftly.”
