Rena Logica leading provider of self-funded health care solutions for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), Life Valveis a patient empowerment platform that developed and runs the online community, TransplantLyfe, which surveys dialysis patients to gain valuable insight into their first-hand experiences and challenges of managing this chronic condition.

An astounding 62% of dialysis treatments are unplanned, illustrating the unpredictability and chaos of CKD: More than half of patients (54%) reported having to take time off work during dialysis, and 50% had an emergency room visit or hospitalization in the past year.

“Dialysis patients face significant physical, mental and logistical challenges in managing their condition,” said Kevin Weinstein, CEO of RenaLogic. “By partnering with Lyfebulb to amplify the perspective of this patient community, we aim to drive meaningful change that improves the dialysis experience and clinical outcomes.”

The research has been compiled into a report covering a range of topics including:

  • Economic impact of dialysis
  • The physical and mental burden of dialysis
  • Barriers to accessing quality care and support services
  • Impact on the workplace

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to partner with RenaLogic on this study to better understand the community and take a closer look at the impact dialysis has on the patients they treat,” said Karin Hehenberger, president of LifeValve and chief medical officer of Patient Care Americas. “We know that dialysis is life-saving and necessary for many to stay alive, but we also know we can do more and do it better for the ESRD patient community.”

Renalogic and Lyfebulb are committed to leveraging these insights to drive meaningful change in the dialysis community and improve quality of life. Access Dialysis Patient Experience Reports. here.
