UVM Health Network maintains dialysis services in St. Albans, Newport and Rutland. Local news

Burlington – University of Vermont Health Network University will continue to operate dialysis services in St. Albans, Newport and Rutland.

The Green Mountain Care Committee voted on Friday to increase the revenue cap at UVM Medical Center and include revenue from Community Dialysis Services. Back in November UVMMC announces it is trying to offload dialysis clinics To other providers for financial burden.

This decision by the GMCB allows UVMMC to continue operating the clinic. UVM Medical Center will continue to maintain losses while looking for opportunities to reduce costs to provide dialysis to Vermonters.

Dr. Stephen Leffler, president and chief operating officer of UVM Medical Center, said in a press release. “We are delighted to reaffirm our commitment to providing these important services.”

Dr. Leffler said he knows dialysis patients and staff have endured uncertainly over the past few months.

“We sincerely apologize for the stress and anxiety people have felt while working to identify progress in this important service,” he added. “We will work with regulators, Vermont, community hospitals and other partners to advance solutions to our most pressing healthcare challenges.”
