Vice President JD Vance says he wants to help his relatives after being denied a heart transplant because he has not been vaccinated against Covid.
The 12-year-old adarin trade has a rare heart defect that puts you at risk of sudden heart failure and stops your body from properly circulating oxygen.
The girl is eligible for a heart transplant, but her parents refused to vaccinate Covid, and Ohio's Cincinnati Children's Hospital refused to add her to the waiting list for the transplant.
The hospital said vaccines are needed to protect transplant recipients from the virus as they will need anti-rejection immunosuppressants for the rest of their lives, which will become vulnerable to severe infections.
Adaline's mother Jeneen trade – My son is married to Vance's half sister – Last week he issued a desperate plea to Dailymail.com, saying that his daughter left “for how long he doesn't know.”
Now, the Vice President spoke to Dailymail.com in an exclusive interview where he wants to help his family. “In fact, we only found out a few days ago,” Vance said.
“I think it's circulating on social media, but I realized a few days ago, and we're obviously trying to dig into as much as possible. It's a distant relative, but the person I care about. So we're trying to figure out exactly what's going on.”
Adaline Deal, a distant relative of Vice President JD Vance, suffered from Ebstein's unusual heart abnormality, leaving her with a heart valve that did not function properly.

Vice President JD Vance told Dailymail.com he would help Adaline whenever possible.
In response to the Vice President's comments, Jenine added:
“Hopefully he'll notice the bill. [in Congress]So it's going to attract a little more attention as it is very important that this bill be passed. ”
Jenine, who is from Indiana, said she doesn't seek “special treatment,” but she's urging the government to allow everyone who needs to get a transplant regardless of the status of the vaccination.
She told the website: [discrimination] Because of their conscientious and religious beliefs. ”
The bill introduced in Congress in 2023 seeks to prohibit federal funding from being given to entities that refuse to provide treatment based on their Covid-19 vaccination status.
Jenine added: “Maybe Congress.” [members] Step up and pass this bill. That's very important.
“i'm so excited [DailyMail.com] I was able to ask [JD Vance] And he knows about her. It's just amazing. ”
Although Adalin's family has refused to vaccinate her from the flu and Covid due to her religious beliefs, she is receiving her routine childhood vaccinations.
Jeneen told the website that she was given in China before her family adopted her and then an additional website was given through the adoption process.
But the family never gave a girl to someone else.

Adalin has a condition known as Ebstein's abnormality, and the heart valve does not function properly. This means that blood can flow backwards.
She also has Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome. Her right side of her heart has also been greatly expanded.
Janine said the girl doesn't understand what's going on because she's cognitively behind. She only knows “her mind makes her sick… and can't do things.”
The browser does not support iframes.
Mom told this website:
“I don't know if she really knows what's going on, but she knows that her mom and dad love her and do anything for her.”
One doctor on Adaline's care team has signed off to a girl who is undergoing a transplant without a vaccine. However, the transplant team has multiple doctors who need to approve the girl's surgery.
Jeneen told Dailymail.com that she wasn't sure about some of them and although she hadn't seen most of them, she was working with the hospital to sign the approval letter.
Currently, doctors say Adalin is stable and last week at her doctor's appointment she “smiles and talks more.”
However, I am always concerned that Adalin could decline soon.
People with her condition live on average around 37 years old, but studies have shown that the risk of heart failure and sudden death is very high.

Adalin has a condition called Ebstein's abnormality, and the valves in her heart do not function properly. This means that blood can flow backwards

This condition puts her at risk of heart failure, prevents her body from properly circulating oxygen, and relies on a wheelchair
Jenine said her daughter was much better than when she first received treatment. This is mainly due to a drug called Lasix, which drains excess fluid from around the heart.
The drug drained 7 pounds of liquid from around her heart, which “really helped her,” allowing her to return to school full time.
Jenine said: “She loves people and being around people, people have sent gifts in the mail, and she thinks it's amazing.”
Due to Adaline's stable condition, doctors said they were directed at the bottom of the transplant list and suggested that more tests be performed to determine the right time to add their name to the list if they receive the flu and Covid vaccine and become eligible.
Adalin is undergoing treatment at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Ohio.
In response to this case, the hospital rated all transplant patients as “focusing on long-term success,” adding that organ availability for transplants is limited.
Dailymail.com contacted the hospital for further comment.
Jeneen told the website that the family is exploring moving their daughter's care to another hospital.
