The Erie community rallied around a local boy who appeared as a special guest at UPMC Park on Friday night.

Jonah Allgaier was diagnosed with a rare heart disease at age 6 and was in desperate need of a heart transplant.

He received the heart on Easter Sunday this year and is currently improving and recovering, and tonight he will throw out the first pitch for the Erie Seawolves.

“When you're going through something like this, there's no guarantee of any outcome. There's nothing. You just don't know how things are going to go, how they're going to go, when they're going to go. I couldn't be happier to be with these guys, my friends, my family and this community,” said Lindsay Allgaier, Jonah's mother.

Proceeds from tickets sold Friday night were donated to Allgeier through the Pediatric Organ Transplant Association.
