Sources say the “Gossip Girl” star had a liver transplant just before her death.
The cause of her death has not been revealed, but insiders said it was not investigated as suspicious.
Trachtenberg played many memorable roles over the years, including “Harriet the Spy,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Gossip Girl,” and “Ice Princess.”
Her mother, Lana Trutchenberg, found Michelle in an apartment in New York City around 8am Wednesday.
Before her death, the actress raised health concerns when her Instagram followers noticed her annoying appearance.
In the last few months, she looked gay on the photos, so some of her 800,000 Instagram followers have speculated about her health.
Last January, Trachtenberg replied to fans' concerns that he was “happy and healthy” and that he had never had plastic surgery.
That month she posted a selfie. “Snake to make it,” she said. I wrote it in the caption.
