Penn State Health Suspends Second Organ Transplant Program

Less than three weeks after Penn State Health suspended its liver transplant program over concerns about clinical quality, the health department announced Friday it would do the same for its kidney transplant program.

Penn State Health is suspending kidney transplants at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for two weeks following a meeting this week with representatives of the National Organ Donation Network, the nation's leading organ transplant oversight organization, the health department announced in a press release.
