Presbyterian Hospital and New Mexico Donor Services Celebrate Donation Life Month

On Wednesday, Elders Hospital celebrated partnering with New Mexico's Donor Services to save lives through donations from organs, eyes and organizations. The celebration was part of the donation lifespan month, and the event was hosted on a Presbyterian flagpole, recognising the New Mexico record organ donation. In 2024, 90 donor heroes saved 207 lives. As a result, New Mexico was chosen as the second kindest state in the country. This is an important factor and its willingness to become organ donors. Another focus of this event was the story of a baby named Gabriel Levisobelle. The mother was carrying her entire mother, who knew she would not survive outside her womb. For this reason, one of Gabriel's main goals was for him to become an organ donor. Gabriel helped launch the birth organization program at the Elders Hospital by donating the hospital's first placenta. He also donated his eyes and heart valves.
