miami – Miami police have accused the financial manager of Little Havana Dialysis Center of stealing more than $100,000 from the company through fake invoices.

Authorities arrested Paola Alexandra Orozco, 45, of Cooper City, on Tuesday on 29 felony charges.

KidneySPA, located at 1401 SW First St., hired Orozco in August, according to the arrest report. According to police, her duties include “preparing timely financial reports, reporting discrepancies, supervising accounting operations such as accounts payable and receivable, analyzing financial data, preparing income statements, and managing financial transactions.” It is said that it was included.

Police said Monday that Kidney Spa’s chief financial officer became suspicious over a $6,583 bill to dialysis supply company Fresenius Medical Care.

The arrest report states that it was discovered that the invoices were not sent to Fresenius, but to Orozco’s bank account.

Police said Orozco used the fake invoices to transfer $122,288 to himself.

Authorities took her into custody at her employer on Tuesday. They redacted the alleged confession from her arrest report.

Orozco is charged with first-degree felonies of grand larceny and organized scheme to defraud, as well as 27 third-degree felonies of making false entries in the books of a business entity.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Ecuadorian national was being held on $67,500 bail, according to jail records.
