BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington attorney is one of about 4,000 Americans who received a heart transplant this year.
Walter Judge joined host Mark Johnson for the latest episode of the “802 News Podcast” to talk about his surgery and recovery.
“When I felt this, this feeling of, like, hearing the voices and seeing the lights, I was like, whoa, this must be what dying feels like. And now I’m so sad because I’m going to die. And then, you know, I’m back unconscious again. And then I wake up, you know, 12 hours later in the recovery room, and everything seems to be fine. And, you know, if I could have gotten down and kissed the floor, I would have. But yeah, I was immobilized for a while. But that was, it was quite shocking. It was quite shocking,” Judge said.
