SALISBURY, Md. – Mrs. Oretha Nutter is celebrating a major 100-year milestone in an unconventional way at Salisbury’s Renal Associate Dialysis Center.

She was surrounded by staff who treated her three days a week.

“They care about us and we thank God in heaven that we still have people who care about each other,” Nutter said.

Dr. Eric Ofori, medical director of the Renal Associate Dialysis Center, who has worked with Mrs. Nutter for the past three years, is impressed by her astuteness and amazed that she made it all the way from Nanticoke to the facility.

“She’s very strong mentally. She’s very kind and it’s a lot of fun to take care of her,” Dr. Ofori said. “As physicians, we always learn from her experience and knowledge.”

And despite the complications caused by dialysis, Dr. Ofori said Mrs. Nutter never lost her spirit.

“She’s coming for treatment. It hasn’t been easy for her, but she’s coming and doing her best,” Dr. Ofori said.

When asked who her favorite nurse was, Mrs. Nutter couldn’t choose one.

“Oh, they’re all my favorites,” said Mrs. Nutter. “They give us great care and the doctors make sure we get great care.”
