The Paul Dannelly Public Relations Society of America branch of Susquehanna University recently won the third No. 1 award at the Life of Life Student Save Lives College Challenge.
This campaign raises awareness of the importance of organ donation.
14 Pennsylvania and the University of New Jersey have joined the challenge and registered 704 organ and tissue donors with the potential to save 5,000 lives, the Life of Life organization said. Susquehanna's campaign, Hues of Hope, has registered 68 new organ donors this year. The highest number registered by the PRSSA branch is competing for the challenge.
The colour of the campaign you want. In the weekly campaign, which includes guest speakers, organ recipients, Susquehanna students had over 500 students engaged in the activities and reached over 10,000 people on social media. This chapter will receive a $1,000 prize.
Abigail Lenz '27, a communications arts major in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and a member of PRSSA, lost a friend in a drunken accident and was urged to take part in the challenge after his grandfather had cancer. Both are organ donors, and their legacy lives on as gifts of life.
“When I think about the challenges of salvation for students, I think of them,” Lenz said. “We think about their selflessness and how their legacy and love are shared with others who need it the most, even if they can't physically be here with us.”
