Beaudry spoke to Congress on April 7th about the importance of organ donation and about the impact of Logan Boolet on “Green Shirt Day.”
NEW – Wadena Kelvington Riding MLA Chris Beadley discussed what Green Shirt Day means to him on April 7th, and his Logan Boolett effect.
Beadley was emotional. “Today, I'm going to talk about Green Shirt Day, a day that has deep meaning to myself and many of us, especially us in Saskatchewan. This day doesn't just fall on April 7th, it's not just about wearing a green shirt.
On April 7, 2018, Humboldt Broncos defender Logan Boolett was injured. His parents, Bernazin and Toby Boolett, offered to donate organs so that six lives could live.
Bordley said, “As a former coach of the 2017/18 Humboldt Broncos, I remember the heartbreak the community faced after the tragic events of April 6, 2018. I have urged countless others to consider becoming a donor myself.”
Green Shirt Day reminds us that sadness can be transformed into actions. It encourages us to engage in conversations about organ donation, educate ourselves, and register to become a donor.
Saskatchewan is currently leading Canada in organ donation.
“Well, let's continue this trend not only as a symbol of memory, but as a commitment to supporting organ donation, and as a call to action for all to consider how we can contribute to this important cause,” concluded Beaudry.
